The first half...
Of the year is already GONE! How did that happen?! With SO much to celebrate I swear every year passes faster than the previous and Good Golly Miss Molly before we even know it we'll be pulling out the Christmas trees. So, before that happens, grab a cup of coffee and let's catch up about what's been going on my friend.
Even though it was a long, cold winter this year, there was always something going on and always a reason to celebrate here in Seward. Our first party of the year was at...
Godfather's Pizza Kid's Day
If there is one business in Seward that truly loves going over and beyond for their community, it's Godfather's Pizza. The General Manager, Levy Voehl, is always coming up with unique ideas for FUN events centered around being family friendly. I had to pleasure of kicking off the New Year with Levy and his crew at their Kid's Day event and boy did they go all out!
Kid's Day was an event with something for everyone. Godfather's offered specials on all of their pizzas, had TWO showings of a magic performance, balloon decor, live twisting, a photo wall, goodie bags, gift card giveaways AND they even raffled off a FREE BIKE!
Levy and his crew had a packed house and did a fantastic job while the community enjoyed a really fun filled evening. Thanks for a fantastic way to kick off all the celebrations of 2019 to come, Seward's Godfather's Pizza!
With deliveries being such a treat for Valentine's Day, we expanded our area this year. With the help of my biggest fan's at Grosshans Inc. we were able to get balloons delivered to over 6 different communities from Grand Island to Lincoln this year! Balloons went every where and to every one. There's nothing cooler than loading a vehicle FULL of crazy balloon creations and watching them spread joy, love and smiles ALL OVER the state! I'm so thankful I get that opportunity and grateful for ALL of the help of my family to make it happen. :)
But this year, I also wanted to try something a little different. Gateway Mall in Lincoln was offering a new experience for shoppers featuring local and regional vendors. Each vendor was local to Nebraska with gifts ranging from candies to flowers, getaways and different types of art. This sounded like the perfect event to pair up with my friend Alisha, at Heirlooms and Paper Blooms. We each curated beautiful and unique creations for truly heartfelt, handmade Valentine's Day gifts.
A true Valentine Story
My favorite memory from the four day event happened on Valentine's Day morning. Before the mall's shops and booths open at 10am, the mall is open to the community for walking. This provides many people a free opportunity to stay active, healthy and mingle with friends. You can find a little of everyone there, but most especially you'll find Grandpeople, and you already know I LOVE my Grandpeople so I made a lot of early morning friends very quickly. :)
There was a group of gals with one lady in particular that just melted my heart. She would stop by each morning with her lady friends on their walk to Ooh and Ahh at all the different items. Awhile later "The Misters" would stop by after hearing about all the offerings. On Valentine's morning I just had to surprise my new friends and I made each gal a balloon flower bracelet. The girls were just tickled and went off on their merry way.
"The Misters" made their way over later and thanked me for 'making their job' easy. Since the girls already got flowers, they were 'off the hook'. :) They wondered off for coffees except for the husband of the gal that just really LOVED the paper flowers. He told me his wife was just tickled over her flower bracelet. He told me she is allergic to flowers and he's never (EVER) been able to give his wife flowers. She's been raving about our booth all week and it just made her whole day to be able to get a flower today. Oh my goodness, I just about cried right there, but of course the story gets better!
Alisha had created these beautiful, brightly colored, long stemmed, paper roses. We wrapped up a dozen of them to make one gorgeous bouquet and for the first time in 50+ years of marriage, Mr. Watson gave Mrs. Watson flowers. She cried, I cried, we all cried! haha! :) Honestly it was the highlight of the day and a memory I've thought back to many times this year. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them together but it was one of times when you're just living IN the moment.
Needless to say, it was an awesome Valentine's Day full of loving vibes. Thank you for choosing to send and celebrate them with us!
Seward Bluejays girl's basketball team (Lady Jays!), had an amazing season and made it to the State Tournament this year! WAY TO GO LADY JAYS!!! I'm so thankful I was blessed with the opportunity to create these basketball cuties for each player to help congratulate and celebrate their team's success.
This is a community full of fun loving people, families and small businesses that are always looking for ways to bring happiness to others. Every day, I get the joy of hearing who's birthday it is, who's celebrating an anniversary, who's celebrating a milestone at work or in business, who's retiring, who's having a baby...the list goes on and on. Every time I'm creating a balloon, I'm creating it specifically for YOUR special person. I cannot even begin to tell you how much joy it brings me to see all the happy hearts and faces with each creation. Thank you so much for the opportunity to help make all of life's celebrations just a little extra special.
Here's a peek at some of those happy memories. Just try not to smile, I dare you! :))
Bringing smiles for miles by creating amazing memories with awesome balloons!
